New online meeting scheduling tool

We are excited to roll out an online meeting scheduling tool right on our website and in our email signature to make scheduling easier. We offer a variety of meeting options, including a quick 15-minute call, regular in-person and GoToMeeting video conference sessions, as well as 2-3-hour annual review meetings for our retainer clients. As you navigate the different pages on our website (including this one) note the blue “Schedule an Appointment” button in the bottom righthand corner. Pick three times that work for you and we’ll get back to you with a final date and time!

Financial advisor networking event

Later this month, for the third consecutive year, Debbie will be hosting the summer social for the DC Metro area fee-only financial advisors (NAPFA). Debbie is the immediate past president of the DC Metro chapter. This always provides a fun opportunity for advisors to get together and share ideas, best practices, and a passion to serve our clients. We always learn something new and look forward to bringing fresh ideas to our clients.

Ensuring our business continuity

You know the old adage about the cobbler’s children not having shoes? So it goes with advisors having a difficult time broaching the topic of succession and contingency planning, and what will happen to the business if Debbie fell ill or died suddenly. So as to avoid being the metaphorical cobbler, we have recently finalized an agreement with a local advisor to place the business (and clients) in good hands if anything were to happen to Debbie. This agreement protects our clients and allows for an orderly transition to a new advisor.

Investment training

On August 21st and 22nd, Debbie, Irina and Courtney will be heading to the City of Brotherly Love to grab a cheesesteak with the folks at Dimensional Fund Advisors at their Foundations Conference. This two-day training will give us insights on new investment strategies and products in order to enhance our quality of services and stay up-to-date with the best in the industry. We will learn more about Nobel prize-winning investment approaches and we look forward to sharing these ideas with you.
