What I Do and How I Can Help

| January 12, 2017

For most people, it’s hard enough to find the time and resources to confidently build and manage their assets. It can be even more difficult to know how to integrate your personal values into your financial plan and feel confident that you’re taking steps in the right direction.

At Gallant Financial Planning, I strive to do things differently than most advisors. Through financial life planning and wealth management, I aim to help you create a financial roadmap that addresses all pieces of your financial puzzle, from your stresses and fears to your values and dreams.

Working with a Fee-Only RIA

Two of the many ways my firm is different than many is that Gallant Financial Planning is an independent, fee-only Registered Investment Advisor (RIA). As a RIA, I act with the highest level of fiduciary care, putting your needs above all else. I avoid conflicts of interest so you can feel confident that I’m always providing unbiased recommendations and objective advice. Rather than create and implement strategies for you, I involve you in the process so you understand what you’re investing in and what steps you can take to reach your goals.

Additionally, my firm is fee-only. This means my only compensation comes from my clients. I don’t receive any perks from investment product companies, I am not limited in my choices, and I can remain conflict-free in my recommendations.

With a fully transparent fee structure, you always know what you are paying. I conduct my business under a fiduciary duty and am held to strict codes of professional and ethical conduct. By working with a fee-only RIA firm, you can feel more confident knowing your best interests always come first.

What I Offer

My role as an advisor is to help you establish your financial life map, which outlines where you are today, where you want to be in the future, and the route you need to take to get there. Working together as partners, we develop holistic financial life plans based on your unique pursuits and constraints. Money may be a tool, but the fulfillment isn’t how much you accumulate; it’s the ability to achieve your dreams.

To develop a comprehensive plan, we review a wide range of financial elements, including your income, expenses, budget, debts, insurance, assets, savings, investments, estate, and more. If there are any elements missing — such as an estate plan, retirement strategy, or other item — we’ll work together to create a plan. As we develop this financial life plan, we’ll determine what’s important to you and how to ensure your goals’ successful realization. We’ll analyze your particular situation and develop an action plan for each step along your financial journey.

How I Help

As a financial life planner, I approach investing and finance differently from a lot of advisors. Your plan shouldn’t just help you manage your money; it should also support your sense of financial well-being and life satisfaction. I seek to develop a plan according to your individual values, priorities, circumstances, and aspirations that helps you lead your own unique version of the “rich life.”

When you work with me, you’re working with an advisor who takes the time to truly get to know you and to understand your concerns and dreams. Beyond your assets and net worth, I want to talk about what makes you tick. What will bring meaning and purpose to your financial life? How can I help you transition from using your life to make money to using your money to make a life? By understanding your habits, attitudes, and actions, I believe I have a greater opportunity to help you achieve your financial and life goals and experience successful life transitions.
