Debbie is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, ChFC®, RLP®, CRPC® and founded Gallant Financial Planning, a fee-only Registered Investment Advisor firm in the Washington DC area. She launched Gallant Financial Planning in 2009 after 11 years consulting to the public sector and 16 years running two independent, small businesses. As a management analyst, an entrepreneur, a mother and a wife, and now managing the financial and health care needs of elderly family members, financial management has been part of her personal and professional life for over 30 years.
Specializing in client-centered financial life planning, she works closely with her clients to develop personalized strategies that address both short-term and long-term needs. She strives to create a warm and friendly environment so her clients feel comfortable and relaxed. To avoid anyone feeling overwhelmed by their strategies or her recommendations, she dedicates the time it takes to offer focused, personal attention and services that are completely adaptable to each client's goals and needs. Beyond financial and investment services, she seeks to provide her clients a deeper sense of understanding regarding their financial circumstances. She believes that providing meaning to all the various parts of their financial life can impart a sense of peace and reduced stress.
Along with more than three decades of professional experience, she has advanced training and education in holistic and comprehensive financial planning, having received the Chartered Financial Consultant®, Registered Life Planner®, Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM, and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designations. As a fee-only advisor, she is active in the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) as well as the Financial Planning Association. She is also the immediate past President of the DC Metro chapter of NAPFA and previously served on the Regional Board.
Based in Rockville, Maryland, she works with clients throughout the state, the greater Washington D.C. area and nationally. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, college son, two dogs and five fabulous "bonus" children.
